Cumbe and Baba Richard Gonzalez are excited to present the culminating performance of his second “Meet the Artists” student choreography and performance workshop!
”Forces: Expressions of the Universal Spirit”
Saturday, March 30 at 7:30pm
Tickets: $10
The theme of “Forces” is the symbology (study or interpretation of symbols) of sacred dance and the study of these gestures in dance. It will explore the divine forces of Asé, fire, wind, and water.
In this second “Meet the Artists” performance workshop, 15 students have the opportunity to work closely with beloved teacher Baba Richard Gonzalez and guest choreographer Winston Benons, Jr. on various works-in-progress. After learning and rehearsing these works for one month, they perform them at Cumbe. Stay tuned to our website for news on the next performance workshop.
