She also holds an M.S. in pharmaceutical marketing from Long Island University and received Board Certification as a Diabetes Educator. She is currently a Director of Clinical Programs at Kings Pharmacy and the coordinator of I.D.E.A the American Diabetes Association (ADA), a recognized diabetes self-management program she created in 2006. She has also been the Director of the Community Pharmacy Residency program since 2007.
Dr. Chawla strongly believes in the mind-body-spirit connection, and that disease is a reflection of emotional, psychological, and spiritual blockages. With the right tools and support, she believes that people can heal themselves through self-awareness and rewiring of limiting beliefs, as well as traditional therapies. This philosophy so deeply resonates with her that she is training to be a life coach practitioner with the Handel Group.
