Sweta Chawla (Diabetes Educator, Pharmacist, and soon-to-be Life Coach) will teach you how to manage your bloodsugars and get the nutrients you need, lead you in aerobic exercise, and introduce you to an invigorating, affirmation-based exercise called Intensati that strengthens both the body and mind. This holistic workshop will give you the knowledge you need to move forward confidently and cultivate a healthy mind and body. You will leave feeling stronger, uplifted, and inspired. Simply wear clothes you can move comfortably in and be prepared to sweat! No exercise experience is needed.
Dr. Sweta Chawla holds a B.S. in Pharmacy and a Pharm.D from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, and completed a one-year community pharmacy residency focused on patient education at Banks Apothecary in Philadelphia. She also holds an M.S. in pharmaceutical marketing from Long Island University and received Board Certification as a Diabetes Educator. She was the Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at Long Island University from 2002-2012, and during that time also identified and implemented several patient education programs at Kings Pharmacy. She is currently a Director of Clinical Programs at Kings Pharmacy and the coordinator of I.D.E.A the American Diabetes Association (ADA), a recognized diabetes self-management program she created in 2006. She has also been the Director of the Community Pharmacy Residency program since 2007.
Dr. Chawla strongly believes in the mind-body-spirit connection, and that disease is a reflection of emotional, psychological, and spiritual blockages. With the right tools and support, she believes that people can heal themselves through self-awareness and rewiring of limiting beliefs, as well as traditional therapies. This philosophy so deeply resonates with her that she is training to be a life coach practitioner with the Handel Group.
